Shunsui defeated one of the strongest espada's resurrection... by pulling out his shikai.
No one took the hint at those times, but with TYBW it becomes way clearer how strong the relaxed captain already was. 🙂

I loved Stark but it was disappointing how little he really got to show off in the end. The Primera and he kinda just gave up. Abilities not really expanded on. The wolf thing was a bit on the simple and underwhelming side for Bleach. And then he actually fucking died so he doesn't even come back in TYBW. Maybe Kubo could have let him come back with a Segunda Etapa, and then he could totally be buddies with Kyouraku. Like he was lonely cos his raw riastsu crushed the hollows around him, and here's a guy who doesn't get crushed by it and is stronger than him. Possibly the only person he'd met who was stronger than him other than Aizen and Yami when he's super pissed. And maybe Ichimaru and Tosen, but Tosen died like a bitch (thank you, Aizen), and we didn't really get to see Ichimaru flex properly.
