fuck you viacom. this is like the 8th reupload or something idfk at this point.

this video technically falls under fair use because i'm using it for educational purposes to 'teach' people that mr. krabs isn't that bad.

also, pardon the abhorrent editing used to avoid copyright infringement.

music used:
intro - cheap & frozen jig (michael bolger & nick carr)
outro - asoue unknown track (james newton howard/nick urata)

mandatory swears: fuck you bitch shit viacom

EPISODES IN ORDER OF APPEARANCE BECAUSE THIS VIDEO SUDDENLY DOUBLED IN VIEWS:
0:07 - Squeaky Boots (S1)
0:41 - Overbooked (S6)
1:36 - Grandpappy the Pirate (S6)
1:56 - Good Ol' Whatshisname (S5)
2:18 - ~~Otherwise Terrible Episode~~ A Pal for Gary (S7)
3:14 - Food PBFFT! Truck (S13)
3:43 - Patrick's Staycation (S8)
4:07 - Mr. Krabs Takes a Vacation (S8)
4:27 - Tutor Sauce (S9)
5:47 - Hooky (S1)
6:08 - Bossy Boots (S2)
6:27 - Bubble Buddy (S2)

Honorable Mentions not in the video (some of these are moreso him just being a good or empathetic person rather than a good boss, obviously):
-[Pickles (S1)] Krabs helping SpongeBob regain his confidence
-[SpongeBob Meets the Strangler (S3)] Krabs immediately offering to be SpongeBob's bodyguard without charge (before realizing it's a most wanted criminal, but he still tried)
-[Best Day Ever (S4)] Krabs indulging SpongeBob after he lost his "best day ever, " and presumably paying the expenses for his 'Best Day Ever' stage play because there's no way that was free
-[Whale of a Birthday (S4)] Krabs entrusting SpongeBob with his credit card to buy Pearl any gifts she may like and, although going overboard, allowing Pearl to keep everything because she's happy.
-[Growth Spout (S7)] Krabs working himself to the bone all night to try and find food to feed Pearl during her growth spurt cravings.
-[Squidward the Unfriendly Ghost (S1)] Attended and spoke at Squidward's funeral.
-[The Chaperone (S1)] Doesn't want Pearl to feel sad so he gets SpongeBob to be her chaperone. Both this and the last one are very minor, but I still think they're worth mentioning, especially the second since other episodes show SpongeBob working the evening and night shifts, implying he took SpongeBob off work just so he could chaperone his daughter (though this is a very weak argument. frankly, i just hate how little there are of his season 1-3 moments).
-[Texas (S1)] Allows and hosts Sandy's Texas party at the Krusty Krab and doesn't seem to care at all when half his establishment is destroyed as a result.
-[To SquarePants or Not To SquarePants (S6)] Immediately solves SpongeBob's dumb problem.
-[Dying for Pie (S2)] Genuinely depressed at the thought of SpongeBob exploding and gives both he and Squidward the rest of the day off to make his final day his best day.
-[Welcome to the Chum Bucket (S2)] Genuinely depressed and regretful of the fact that he got too cocky and bet SpongeBob in a bet with Plankton. He only did it because he thought he was gonna win (traditional gambling mistake) and by doing so he let Plankton play him like a fiddle.
-[Krusty Love (S2)] Falls deeply in love with Mrs. Puff and wants to give her his everything (though SpongeBob gets caught in the crossfire of this internal conflict between his love of money and his love of Mrs. Puff, this is inadvertent, he shows a degree of empathy, and although still inconsiderate the full context doesn't make this a bad act. people do stupid things when in love and some of you people need to be less biased and grow a pair instead of hating on anything that inconveniences the main character, no offense)
-[Sailor Mouth (S2)] Teaches SpongeBob and Patrick to be more polite about the way they speak, and that some language is foul and should not be normalized or inserted into every day speech (a lesson lots of people, myself included, desperately need ngl might make a video on this one, ill keep note of it).
-[My Pretty Seahorse (S3)] Teaches SpongeBob that Mystery is a wild animal and should be set free.
-[As Seen on TV (S3)] Indulges SpongeBob's lunacy throughout the episode, understanding his idiosyncrasies and knowing full well he'll get over the phase soon.
-[Squilliam Returns (S3)] Allows Squidward to pretend to own the Krusty Krab for a night so he can look good in front of his old rival (beyond considerate when remembering there was no mention of money at all, and the demeanor during the agreement implies he perfectly understood Squidward's reasoning and wanted to support him)
-[Yours Mine and Mine (S7)] Scolds SpongeBob and Patrick for letting a dumb toy ruin their friendship and goes as far to give them both the same toy to help their troubles.

i could go on with this list, and frankly i might when im less lazy, but i think this entire comment can be summarized by a certain iconic quote

"Your honor, we find the defendant not guilty

...but he is cheap."

The fact that Mr Krabs immediately knew that Patrick was sleeping in SpongeBob's bed and that was why SpongeBob was at his house shows that this is basically a regular occurrence

Season 1 Krabs was probably the best rendition of Krabs
He was greedy, but not total sadist to the point of grappling someone's arm for a penny

He's a captain. He'll keep his men alive, but at the end of the day, the ship's gotta turn a healthy profit.

He treats SpongeBob like a son, literally. Like the child he never had.

Mr. Krabs: “you should have said something!”

You didn’t give Spongebob a chance.😭

Considering how Crabs was canonically poor as a kid, the penny pinching makes sense

My first thought was in the Tattletale Strangler episode where SpongeBob comes running to him for help. Mr. Krabs was all for it til he realized it was the Strangler. As least he was at the ready to defend him

Hot take: Mr. Krabs is flawed, not entirely terrible, sure he's done shit like sell SpongeBob's soul but he had the ability to be decent

Love Mr.Krabs, especially in the earlier seasons, when he let his cheapness he would genuinely try and correct his mistake, like getting pearl the shoes she wanted and letting SpongeBob know he’s special with and without the boots. Hell he even gives his daughter money without a second thought, even if it sometimes hurts him to do it he still will do it, not letting his obsession get in the way of his daughter.

He had his bad moments sure, but in the end he’d come around, though newer seasons don’t really show thisb

Remember how concerned Mr Krabs genuinely was for SpongeBob and Patrick in hooky?

4:51 Never in my life I would see Mr. Krabs give real literal money to Pearl. Mr. Krabs is rarely not being a cheapskate.

I miss old seasons mister krabs, he was a greedy but still good boss. The episode clams is a good example, he rented a boat and bought sandwiches for his employees

Aww, thank you for this video! I was waiting for someone to make this! I would also add these scenes, or make a part two with these scenes:
. Being concerned for SpongeBob’s wellbeing in the episodes “Suds” and “Pickles” and letting him go home in those episodes
. Helping SpongeBob get his confidence back in “Pickles”
. Apologizing to SpongeBob for losing his temper in “The Lost Mattress” and “Larry the Floor Manager”
. Hugging SpongeBob and apologizing to him for doubting him at the end of the first SpongeBob movie
. Reassuring SpongeBob at the end of “F.U.N” and offering Krabby Patties on the house
. Calling SpongeBob his “little money maker” and affectionately kissing him in “Stanley S. SquarePants”
. The scene of him being generous in “Born Again Krabs”
. Any scene of him and Mrs. Puff in “Krusty Love”
. Comforting SpongeBob and giving Gary his shell in “Shell Shocked”
. Hugging SpongeBob and apologizing to him in “Plankton Paranoia”
. Hugging him in “Call the Cops”

3:43 ‘Patrick’s Staycation’ was a very hit or miss episode. The gags were… alright, but Patrick’s demanding and somewhat entitled attitude throughout half of the episode, was just insufferable. However, the only thing that really saved it, was this wholesome ending. Mr. Krabs’ “Father figure” persona returned
