Tjeerd Veenhoven is a designer with a passion for inventing new materials and production techniques. Like for instance this rubber chair, created by replacing the air in a mould with polyurethane rubber. He also developed a super lightweight bicycle made out of carbon fibers fixed in epoxy. Currently Tjeerd is working on what he calls palm leather.

Together with Huis Veendam he is developing floor tiles from organic waste like potato peel, oats chaff and fir needles. For the organic floor tiles, glue is an important ingredient.

Characteristic for Tjeerd's studio are his experiments with organic fibres to use in new products.
