Rotating cup of water

Показать описание
Rotating a plastic cup of water on a material polishing plate. In a frame of reference rotating with the cup there is no relative motion between the water particles. This is called 'hydrostatic'. There is an additional acceleration, however, compared to a non-rotating cup; hence lines of constant pressure, such as the free surface of water, are no longer flat but are actually parabolic.
