In Sweden, Gucci is just associated with ganger teenagers who cosplay being rich. Not my opinion, just the market image

This happens every few years 😂😂. I remember in 2010 nobody cared for Gucci. Fast forward to 2017 and everyone was talking about Gucci. Just a cycle

This video came as an answer to my curiosity. Just today I was at Marshalls (I'm an average, not rich person), and saw a pair of Gucci retro style super cool sunglasses for $300. I said to myself "if Gucci is being sold at Marshalls, it means this brand is in fashion rot". And this video explains it perfectly.

Gucci, until about 1994, was a genuine craft house; made in Italian Gucci factories (yes, they were small factories)….My Gucci loafers from 40 years ago are both properly and correctly made. Today the modern iterations are just poorly made rubbish made in China (under Gucci orders) but labelled in Italy. 🇬🇧

Not only Gucci, Lagerfeld is done, Versace in TK Maxx, long ago Armani falled down and is associated with cheapness, Tommi Hilfiger, CK, valentino as well etc

LVMH and Kering just give off the vibe that they want to own everything, a lot of their brands have started to gain a tacky reputation because of the overuse of logos (the former LV and the latter Gucci). Richemont seems like the only other conglomerate that doesn’t have these issues, all of the brands they own still retain their prestige.

Well, 3 years ago all these channels were saying how brilliant Gucci was, and beating all brands, and now suddenly it's the total opposite

Once you started seeing "regular" people wearing Gucci and LV, you know the brand has been cheapened. Heck even BMW and Mercedes has been falling into that category for a while.

I prioritize quality and value over brand. Most of my stuff winds up being from small brands anyhow, and if i didnt already have tons of clothes, id thrift.

Show me the discount racks then if they’re doing so poorly. Would love to buy whatever is on sale. A dip in sales is expected after Michele’s departure.

I bought Gucci a lot before when the previous creative director was the director but since they put a new creative director, I never bought Gucci anymore. The style is so so now than what the previous creative director had in mind

The moment I knew Gucci and every other luxury clothing store were absolutely jokes is when I saw a pair of plain old white T going for $130 when I stepped in just to see what the hype was all about.

Tom Ford's Gucci was slick and sophisticated. He brought it back from a tacky era. ( those cheap gold watches at Macy's) This new low point can be called the greed era, they just pumped out overpriced junk with the logo plastered all over the place. What will happen, certain Tom Ford pieces will be sought after as they become scarce, exclusive and hip again,

Gucci is doing fine. Not everyone into Gucci but Gucci has a worldwide consumers base, and always will. Primark choke the market with cheap fashion, followed by their asian cousins Shein, Temu and more. Fashion palate is not stated by class anymore, its individual taste.

So basically he marries hot actress and proceeds to lose focus while LVMH grows 10x

You can add Dolce & Gabbana to the list. The D&G mark now is like supermarket fashion

Pretty sure the same Gucci bag and shoes I bought during Covid have all gone up 10-20% in 3 years. Not sure where is the discount. Gucci was never in same league as Chanel and LV.

There is a Gucci store at the mall. Every time I go there is security guard and a rope at entrance. Meanwhile there is nobody in the store 😂 so apparently it’s so “exclusive” that even the most VIP clients are excluded.
