Finding Distance using the Pythagorean theorem

The Pythagorean theorem can be used to calculate distance if a right triangle is created.
The Pythagorean theorem states that a squared plus b squared equals c squared. This very similar to the distance formula.

Or, you could just measure PI with a ruler or measuring tape. We don't have nice little equal blocks to count in the construction business. In fact I can't think of any industry that has nice little equal blocks to count. This is why kids struggle with math. Cause unless you take a real world example and demonstrate clearly and without making easy assumptions (cheating), it is very hard to understand how the example is relevant. Of course I know better now. I can apply math, algebra and trig in real world examples. But I did not learn this from my math teachers in school. It took me years of figuring out problems in real life. Never the less, this video explains the Pythagoras theorem very well. Well done.

Whats it called when you want to find the angles.. you have a 90degree triangle and PG is long and GI is short.. how would you find the degrees for P and I?
