sublabels under biger labels are normal thing especially for rappers (carti has one too), so i dont think interscope would have problems with that. More likely reasoning could be that label wants to build cartis image more by him "beating" big name like selena, because selena is near end of her musical peak (in comertial sense) and is 15+ years on top, carti is much newer and has more future in front of him
