President Moon Jae-in has embarked on a week-long trip to the Middle Eastern region to meet with his counterparts in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt.
While there, Moon will seek to expand economic opportunities in promising areas such as hydrogen energy and defense.
Our senior Blue House correspondent Kim Min-ji reports.

President Moon Jae-in on Saturday left for the United Arab Emirates the first stop on his three-nation tour of the Middle East and North Africa.
Starting his official schedule on Sunday,... Moon will attend a business roundtable on hydrogen cooperation.
He'll also hold talks with UAE Prime Minister Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum to discuss cooperation in infrastructure, climate action and space.
Moon will also visit the Expo 2020 Dubai where he's expected to promote South Korea's bid to host the Expo in Busan in 2030.
A summit with Mohammed bin Zayed Al-Nahyan Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi is also on the table to further boost ties in the areas of defense and healthcare... based on their special strategic partnership.

President Moon will then travel to Saudi Arabia South Korea's biggest trade partner in the Middle East and its number one market for overseas construction.
On Tuesday,... Moon will meet with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman... to expand the horizon of cooperation to future industries, like AI and hydrogen energy.
He'll also attend a business forum on smart innovative growth.
The next day, Moon will hold talks with the Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council a six-nation regional group which brings together Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the UAE.

The final leg of Moon's trip will take him to Egypt a global logistics hub and a foothold for South Korean companies entering Africa.
Moon will hold a summit with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi on Thursday on ways to further develop their comprehensive cooperative partnership.
While in Cairo, he will also attend a business roundtable to promote green cooperation.

The Blue House says Moon's visit is expected to provide opportunities for South Korea in areas of hydrogen energy, defense and construction in the Middle East and Arab markets... and contribute to boosting the country's exports.
President Moon will return to Seoul on January 22.
