This was the first national chart-placing version of this movie theme ballad in the US, yet despite Steve Lawrence's definitive vocal on it, it mostly languished as a B-side and failed to reach the Top 100 on any of the three recognized national pop charts of the era. It didn't even make the Billboard easy listening chart. There were a couple of other hit versions of the song a few months later, but I thought Steve should have had a major success with this.
