I'm a big fan of multiple lights for multiple purposes. EDC is a Streamlight ProTac 1L. In my work bag, a headlamp and a Streamlight Stylis Pro (Sharpe size). Bedside pistol has an Inforce and bedside 12 guage has a Shurefire with remote pressure switch (don't want to break a thumb on a tail cap... LOL). "Get home bag" (always in my vehicle) has a head lamp and a couple other lightweight, light sources. Pic the tool for the job. Always great content. Keep it up, brother.

Favorite light is an Eagle Tactical (EAGTAC) GX30L2R. Mine is about 3 years old and is just a tank of a light. It gets used every night I work (decade in Law Enforcement) and it's taken drops, been submerged and just keeps on going. Durable, waterproof, bright if you need it, and plug in rechargeable or battery fueled. Love it.

LIGHT: Mag-Lite, XL50. 3 oclock hip mount 'Nite-Ize quick draw holster with ranger band for retention. 1 inch mount system on long arms. Can use picatinny 1 inch quick mount on hands. I got 5 lights and they use 3 Duracell AAA.

Hearing your point on children is causing me to question my thoughts. Ive grown up with unprepared parents when it comes to finances so ive always told myself im not gonna have kids to prevent anyone growing up in my situation. But after hearing this im seriously reconsidering my thought process.

Streamlight (Pro tac) is the go-to for me. Don't break the bank but work great for many years and offer all the same features as more expensive lights.

I have used the Stream Light Protac HL in verious environments around the globe and it has preform great. Its biggest downside is that it uses CR123 batteries. Stream Light does make a rechargeable option but I have never used it. Regardless, I suggest checking it out, as an aircraft mech I have used it for hours at a time in temps from 0F to 130F and never had any failures.

Holy crap man. I was at camp war eagle with 2-5 cav TF chargers, 2004-2005. We were on QRF on April 4th, 2004, when the Mahdi armi decided to ambush some engineers. Worst day of my life, that event started 5 months of hard fighting, lost friends. There were always 2 snipers on the tall building in war eagle with a barret and sr25. We loved those guys. Cool to hear that we fought in the same place.
