Fun fact, in USCF tournaments you do lose the game in blitz but the extra time rule is used in rapid and classical games

What if u just check mate only using wrong moves?

You have to retract your illegal move, and make a move with the piece you touched if possible. The opponent gets an extra minute, and if you make a second illegal move you lose automatically

Ha, I'm not sure what the pan to Danya was all about (this vids a few weeks old now), but kinda funny, I do know Danya made an illegal move in a game in the World Blitz championship yesterday and resigned afterwards (think he was in a bad position and way down on time anyway)
