Test Day in Mojave: A Look at Hot Fire Tests with NASA

Ever wonder what a typical test day looks like out in Mojave? Well, here's your chance to find out!
In late 2020, researchers from NASA's Kennedy Space Center traveled to our test site in Mojave to conduct materials testing using hot gas from a rocket engine. These series of hot fire tests were used to examine the "suitability of the materials that could be used in the construction of landing pads on the lunar surface for large landers." The data collected from these tests will eventually be used to "design landing pad concepts for future NASA and commercial human lunar missions."
In this video, we show footage from these tests and also include brief interviews with Masten team members explaining the logistics, operations, and outcomes.
