How to refinish wood furniture #diy #furniture #restoration

Показать описание
Step 1 - take your furniture apart! It's much easier to refinish when it's in separate pieces BUT make sure to label where all your hinges, parts & screws go! Just do it, trust me! IYKYK 😂
Step 2 - Strip off the old finish. I used HomeStrip Eco Paint Remover. Scrape off the stripper and wash with mineral spirits if it's chemical-based, or water if it's water-based. I used Bartoline Limited Clean Spirit which is an eco-friendly water-based alternative to mineral spirits.
Step 3 - Sand it smooth, working through the grits from 120 grit to 220 grit.
Step 3 - Use your finish of choice to topcoat the wood. I applied a couple of coats of Fiddes Woodfinishes Hard Wax Oil in Satin.
And there you have it, a brand new fresh finish! 🥰👍
