these are my original characters.
the black (Veronica) is a monster. the grey (Ruslan) is a monster hunter. they end up working together under certain circumstances. red (Daniel) is Ruslan's best friend, who didn't know monsters exist. Ruslan tries his best to protect him, but ends up being the indirect reason why Daniel learns about monsters and gets hurt.
Veronica is a huge threat to both of them despite being their 'friend', but Ruslan at least knows how to protect himself. the rock-paper-scissors one is a bit tricky, and mostly refers to a certain part of the story where Veronica gets hurt because of Daniel (karma:>)
but in the end they'll grown on eachother and become the closest friends <3

you can tell that sometimes the grey guy is helping/rescuing the red guy, while other times is part of/contributing to the problem that ends up hurting him instead

I love how in each scenario, Veronica hurts Daniel and Ruslan is complicit. Even before reading the pinned explanation, it reads across perfectly as Grey Ruslan not being able to do anything but watch as Red Daniel is hurt. Absolutely wonderful visual storytelling! This video is a stellar example of this trend

I like how in the rock paper scissors one, Black (Veronica) splits/cuts the paper maybe in half sybomlysing how grey (Ruslan) in split in who to help. On one hand he wants to save red (Daniel) but on the other hand he kind of enables/ doesn't stop Veronica from hurting Daniel. Another reason he's paper is because he traps Daniel (the rock) in this toxic kind of friendship with him and Veronica. Daniel is also rock because he can break/damage Veronica.

For most of the images, the black outline was the perpetrator, while gray acted as an enabler, with red being the victim. Only scene of mural destruction was the rock paper acissors

Not only in the rock paper scissors but also in the bunny and dog cat and mouse ones and many more you can see its black trying to hurt red and grey either stopping them or trying or just not managing

While the gray one never seems to be actually hurting the red one, he seems to be helping in some way adding to the hurt even if he doesn't mean to?...

Like in the spider one, web traps the fly and the spider hurts the fly. The bunny one, the stake holds the trap that traps the bunny

I love the rock paper scissors analogy
The rock could easily break the scissors, it could easily break the system and move on but it just won’t do it
On the other hand the paper could cover the rock and defend and protect it, but in doing so it would put itself in a place where the scissors could cut it
