The Summer Pokemon GO Took Over The World

In the summer of 2016 the world would witness one of the biggest crazes in human history.

2016 was fuckin wild, we went from everyone freaking out about Harambe to hunting Pokémon on their phones to clowns stalking the streets at night

I’m still obsessed with the game even after all these years. Even managed to add 2 Pokestops at my house lol. I spent way too much money on the game, but I honestly have so much fun playing it. By far my favorite video game ever.

I'll never forget the vines made out the Hilary video of her saying "Pokemon Go to the polls"

I remember being in school when this launched and man the entire class was into it. People banded together into their respective team and fought for the gyms surrounding the school like crazy.

The summer of Pokémon Go was the greatest summer of my life. It was the one time where everybody wanted to walk around outside catching and talking about Pokémon. It was the first time where everybody in public wanted to talk about something I loved; and I knew everything about it. It really helped me open up and talk to people I otherwise would never talk to.

To this day, I still think their biggest mistake was not having Gen 2 being released around August 2016 and having the Team Rocket idea they eventually implemented into the game at launch. You can only catch so many Pidgeys and Rattatas before you grow tired of it all. Nonetheless, it's an experience I'll never forget as there's never been anything like it before.

Pokemon GO launched at the perfect time considering everybody from gen 1 were already grown adults at the time and were nostalgic for the generation.

Still play, even tho I'm not a everyday player I still crack it open several times a week. But the first couple years I was well dedicated ❤️ made many new friends and it was great

Pokemon Go is still alive and well too! It's going to be included in the Pokemon World Championships from 2022 onwards!

it came out the summer that i graduated high school. i think this was the last time i can remember when i was truly happy 🙃
