When will new small chickens arrive at the chateau to be safely protected from any fox attacks ? ?
A friend who keeps chickens has very generously put down a high layer of dry "pea straw" to cover all the outdoor day area that the chickens use during the day time - it results in the dirt not looking ugly and pitted with holes where the chickens roam and scratch continuously during the day.
Plus Pea straw naturally enriches the soil each time you re-apply a new layer of dried pea-straw again over the previous layer.

Steph and Philip, I really chuckle when you have your 'age difference' conversations - with 14 years between me and my other half, I often get the response 'was I alive then?' and my answer is usually 'Erm, maybe, just about!'!! #ageisjustanumber !! You two are great together <3
