Nuxt JS - Distinct Layouts

So you can use practically different elements, like navigations, sidebars, or footer elements.
But how can you set the layout dynamically? And how can you differentiate between mobile and desktop?

And of course, this should work for both available modes, the universal app with server-side rendering and the regular single-page app, which includes the nuxt generate feature to build a completely static website.
