I make this at least once a week. It is very popular in Nigeria. It is called zobo. In my case i use fresh ginger and pineapple for sweetness. I also add lemon juice and substitute the sugar with honey or Brown sugar.
Boil the leaves with the rinds of the lemon and the pineapple for more flavour and add the juice of the lemon, ginger and pineapple after. Lovely.

We have this in El Salvador too! We call it Agua de Jamaica! My family just make it by soaking the hibiscus flowers for a few hours to make a concentrate and then add in water and sugar until it tastes right. It's a great drink to have on a hot day!!
