How I made a beautiful wildflower meadow from my lawn. It’s easy.

OK so I know I’m not an amazing cinematographer or narrator but I made a vlog about turning my lawn into a wildflower meadow. This is about year one.

Almost all of the effort is on the front end killing the grass. I used two rounds of tilling with an electric tiller for this. For 1500 square feet this took a full day on the first round, half day on second round. After seeding, I watered enough to keep soil moist, not soaking wet, until seedlings were about 4-6 inches tall. Put any questions you have in the comments. Please like and subscribe!

Love it. I'm 1.5 years into converting from a grass to a clover/grass lawn. There is a problem area at the back of the property that I was considering for wild-flowers, Terrible soil so tilling in some topsoil soil and using a Southestern wilflower mix may be they way to go. Thanks.

Hi from England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿...Ive just moved to a town house with a smaller garden than i had before...ive always had wildflowers...ive planted them in the front and bk...my neighbours are excited and always stop me to say the shoots are coming through...there all excited to see what they look like as there are hardly any flowers down my street....ive also done lots of plants that ive done for my neighbours to encourage them to put some flowers out...this video was wonderful...thank you for sharing it...I absolutely enjoyed it...we have to help our bees and bugs...and u certainly did that...its just beautiful

Great work I love how beautiful the blooms are the variety you got. better than the lawn that was there and it looks like you're sure enjoying it. Since you're in the midwest, I would encourage you to add more native plants as time goes on. You've be rewarded with wildlife.
