Hi, I'm Mark and I've been teaching and playing guitar professionally for 26 years now, and I've picked up a lot of insights along the way; things I wish I had known when I started out. That's why I started this channel - to share this knowledge with you.

But this is more than just a place to learn guitar. It's also place where you can hang out, relax, be yourself, get support, make friends and get inspired to have more fun with your guitar.

So go ahead. Pick up your axe. Hit play. And be a better guitarist.

Thanks for watching!

I've only just found you on YouTube after searching for 'rock strumming patterns'. (Saw your first rock strumming lesson now this one). Love your clear, calm and concise instruction. Thanks.

Mark, thanks for all the free lessons.  Your lesson about one minute chord changes has helped me  progress more in the past week than I have in a month before trying it.  I am in your debt big time.

By far the clearest strum lesson on Youtube. Can't believe I only found you when you posted about your absence on Youtube.

Hi Mark! Just want to thank you for your strumming videos. I have played guitar off and on for about 25 years and strumming and keeping rhythm has been a HUGE challenge. Your tutorial has helped me to understand. Thank you for the breakdown!

Awesome!
This is what I've been searching for..
Most of the other guys focus on chords but glad to see that someone is out there who focuses on getting the strumming right!

...pattern a few times. And then repeat for the other four strumming patterns. I know I would love a vid like that, but no obligation. I am grateful for all you do already too. Thanks Mark.

Welcome to the awesome world of free tuition online my friend. YouTube is a great resource, and I know there's a ton of great Aps you can download for guitar. Maybe if anyone else out there sees this, they'll suggest a cool one.

I am an advanced beginner or intermediate player, but your method of teaching and practice are new to me. Working each hand, one at a time is very effective, thanks.

Occasionally, we come across a cool strum that doesn't fit exactly into one of the fundamental patterns.
For eg. "Island in the sun"Weezer isa version of 'D du D dU u uDudu' with the chords changing on the Capitals. These strums will be covered in future, but are simply born out of the Tic Tic method.
Also Van Morrison "Gloria" is 'Du uD D' with the chords moving on the capitals. It also contains a "STOP" wich will be covered in the later series on advanced strums the pros use.
