The Best Reviewed Games of 2022

2022 had the potential to be the biggest year for new video games since 2017. Unfortunately, a number of big delays (Breath of the Wild 2, Hogwarts Legacy, and Starfield among them) took some of the wind out of this year's sails. Yet even with those setbacks, there were still a ton of games that recieved a 9 or higher from IGN. As we move into 2023, we’re looking back at this year’s standout releases. From FromSoft’s instant-classic Elden Ring in January to Sony’s stellar God of War Ragnarok in November.

It still amazes me today how Xbox has been in this race for over 20 years and still managed to deliver hardly anything special for an entire year.

Tunic has been severely snubbed at many game awards due to coming out earlier in the year and not having the marketing or audience clout to sustain it like Elden Ring did. Losing out to a game that was pretty much only on anyone's radar because it starred a cat was a very sad thing to witness.

Elden Ring was the best gaming experience for this year without a doubt. The feeling of walking into open world (Limgrave) for the first time is still etched into my mind after so many months. Definitely a game that will be revisited again and again.

The main take-away for this video is that IGN needs to standardize the microphones their reviewers use

That Horizon Forbidden west didn't win a single award at the GameAwards is a shame.

Horizon Forbidden West for me, the last updates have removed glitches and added new content. Upcoming DLC Burning Shores is going to be a ps5 blast.

Tunic was an amazing game! Deserved more love and very underrated! Takanashi Kiara of Hololive English had a Tunic stream that was very entertaining to watch so check her out Tunic play through if you have the chance!

I'm convinced no one really likes Horizon. Always comes and goes in the blink of an eye, no one talks about it for more than a day or two after launch.
