BEING a Dhammakaya Follower in Thailand | Coconuts TV
Показать описание
The Dhammakaya movement is one of the largest religious movements in Thailand. Formed more than 50 years ago by Buddhists who disliked the modern trappings of many temples, the Dhammakaya group originally focused on traditional Buddhist scriptures and meditation.
It’s also been caught up in a web of controversy, most notably around Phra Dhammachayo, former abbot of the Dhammakaya temple. Thailand’s Department of Special Investigation in 2015 had charged the influential monk for questioning after his temple was accused of receiving more than 1 billion baht (22.45 million pound) of embezzled funds. Dhammachayo has failed to show up for police questioning, citing ill health.
Want a rare glimpse into this Buddhist sect with millions of followers around the world? Sit tight and let Dhammakaya follower Pam take you on a journey of unwavering worship through her eyes, and offers a devotee's perspective on the controversy surrounding Dhammachayo.
BEING brings you intimate conversations with folks in Asia who have broken the mold. Throw out the norms and conventions and meet the people you think you knew about but had no idea.
