I have 2 canaries. Rosie and Ponchito. They came from Petsmart. As soon as I set up cage… they both started build a nest… on the 5th day Rosie laud an egg.. laud one every morning for 4 days. Ponchito was happy feeding her while she sat on eggs. The Ponchito started to destroy nest, I separated them. She stopped sitting on eggs. So I reunited them. This morning their was a broken egg. I separated them. Now Rosie us sitting on eggs again. Why did this happen?

I am a canary breeder but last year I breed a pair of green finches and I got some chicks from them this year i kept only the males for their song So in the empty aviary I put some Bengalese I think at least I got two pairs I put some fresh green pine branches in the aviary. They seem to really like they’re pecking and building the nest with. Together with some pieces of clean napkin paper they seem to love ❤️ the pine 🌳. 🇲🇹.

You are so helpful I got a male and female for my grandmother she’s 97 always had a male for their song but wanted to amp up the experience for her. We just noticed the male feeding the female I hope to be a breeder someday.

That is already going well, hopefully more chicks will follow. I think that mosaic male is an agate so if the dark young is an agate then it is a female and otherwise it is a male split for agate.

I got my 2 from a pet store and I was pretty sure they're both female. Yesterday they started laying eggs in the food dish (I don't have a nest in there). Neither one is sitting on them (at least not yet). Do they know if they're infertile? Just trying to figure out if I was mistaken and actually have a male or not. Haha

Birdnerd you should get formula for baby's just incase your pairs leave a baby not that will happen but I think it's best

Hi, my female canary laid 4 eggs, but she kicked 2 of them out. They weren't transparent or anything, so I'm wondering why she did that. Could you maybe enlighten me? Thanks :)
