Sunset Camel Ride in the Sahara - Merzouga, Morocco

My twin brother, Joe, and I booked a trip from Marrakesh to go to the Sahara and ride camels to stay overnight in a Bedouin camp. After spending the first day going to Ait Ben Haddou and Dades Gorge, the second day consisted of touring the town of Tinghir which is built on an oasis next to the High Atlas Mountains. We also went to Todra Gorge to see the high canyon walls there.
After that we arrived in Merzouga, the gateway to the Sahara. Our camels were waiting for us and we hopped on them to take a sunset ride into the endless dunes to arrive at our camp. We ate tagine and then gazed at the stars for hours.
We had an early wake up call to get on the camels for sunrise to get back to the van and back to Marrakesh.

Riding camels in the Sahara is definitely a bucket list item. That oasis that you were at earlier was cool too.

Camel riding is so fun! I went on one in Dubai when I was quite young. I wasn't expecting the descent to feel so traumatic, haha. The Sahara desert looks incredible - just miles and miles of sand. I love the deep orange colour too. Definitely need to add this to my bucket-list!

I can't believe how green it is in the oasis, very cool! We have done camel rides in Egypt, such a cool experience!

Visit meknes and fez
Those both cities are rich with historical sights
And ask for Kara prison in meknes
It's there centuries ago under the ground
You will enjoy like you are in mummy movies
