For anyone who doesn't know this is a black sabbath song and Charles sang it shortly after the passing of his mother. That's what charles is making the song about to himself. R.i.P charles and his mama.

This song LEGIT hits harder when you're going through something.

Something about the emotional, empathetic gravity of Charles Bradley makes this video the shortest and longest 6 minutes you've ever spent watching something. One of the simplest and most complex music videos I've seen. The texture of life isn't found in complex productions and expert marketing, it's found in sharing your humanity with another human.
From any distance, any time spent with Charles is always a gift.

We played this for my sisters funeral. it’s been just over 3 months now and when I really miss her I play this. RIP Socky, you were the most amazing person.

If you're listening to this on repeat, you probably need someone to talk to.

Don't wait.

I feel unhappy, I feel so sad
I have lost the best friend that I ever had
She was my woman, I loved her so
But it's too late now, I've let her go
I'm going through changes
I'm going through changes
In my life, oh baby, oh no
We shared the years, we shared each day
In love together, we found a way
But soon the world had its evil way
My heart was blinded, love went astray
I'm going through changes
I'm going through changes
Oh, in my life, oh, ooh, woah, oh, ooh ooh
It took so long to realize
I can still hear her last goodbyes
And now all my days are filled with tears
Wish I could go back and change these years
I'm going through changes
I'm going through changes
Oh, it hurt so bad
In my life, in my life
It's gotta be a change
In my life
Oh, these little changes
In my life
It hurt so bad
Somebody gotta to help me
To these changes

"I'm going through changes"- one of the most relatable lines ever written.

The way his voice choke a bit when he said "i can still hear her" (4:06), knowing that this part of the song is the one that hurts him the deepest following the lost of his mother. You can just feel the honesty of his soul.

This song is from 1972.
The prince of mf'n darkness.
I'm 30, I remember getting my guitar at 15 and playing nothing but sabbath, zeppelin & AC/DC. This was like stairway to me but it never got the same recognition and I feel like Charles Bradley's cover has finally done just that and also shows the connection all music has to the blues genre. Ozzy's vocals so crisp while Charles is raspy. Just so cool to hear the difference. Love both versions tremendously

RIP Charles Bradley. His career got a late start, but may his music be immortalized.

This man had such an incredible story... He never gave up on his dream and just before he passed away he made it... From James Brown impressionist to a soul icon in my opinion.

I was so sad when i learned that you died from cancer, may you rest in peace Charles. You are my favourite soul man and I have so much respect for what you've done. Thank you uncle

RIP Charles Bradley. I don't normally get worked up when artists pass, but I'm watching this and balling my eyes out. Damn.

That is why people should listen to soul music, they'll find meaning in simple thing that makes life so beautiful and harsh at the same time.
