Also, it's good practice when you find an enemy supply drop, that before you dismantle it, first hit your "T" key to see how many supplies are actually left in the drop. If there's still 100 left, then you know they haven't been used to build anything yet, so there's no garrison (or other structure) around. But, if it's less than 100 (especially if it's 50) then you know at least something has been built from it. Look for a garrison, nodes or AT gun within a 50m radius.

Great advice man. Especially about looping around the long way. Staying out of sight and choosing your battles is underrated

Great intro video on Garry finding.
If you ever make an indepth guide:
1. Garries in enemy territory actually lock on 100m, so if you find a garry in your own blue zone you can approach quite easily.
2. After destorying the garrison, look around for the supply box or drop. Especially if it is in a red zone.
3. If you find a supply drop, depending on where it is, check to see if its 100 or 50 supplies. 50 supplies means there is a garry in 50m range.
4. Initial garies are build along the neutral zone line at the start, they often survive for quite a while. So patrol the 4th column/row on the side where it meets the 5th column/row (depending on the map orientation).
5. High grass/wheat fields are prime garry locations, gettin some altitude is a good way to spot it but will be dangerous. Combing through while crouching and using your ears can be better.
6. if you find a garry, you know the 'next' garry is at least 200 meters away.
7. Similarly to point 4, backup garries are often build along the border to one zone behind the point. These are great to have as you can put preassure immediatly if you lose the point - therefor also important to destory.
8. Defending a point doesn't mean 'sit on the strongpoint', but rather patrol the 4 gridspaces around it for enemy garries and even dip into the red to find them.
9. Garries never build in a red zone when a blue zone is close by - or vice versa for the enemy.
10. Garries have different timers for dismantling. Enemy's offensive garries (in your blue zone) are quite quick to dismantle. Enemy garries in the 'active' blue zone (the 2 columns/rows of the point you are attacking) are slower to dismantle. Garries build in the red zones beyong that are incredibly slow to take down. Garries build by the enemy commander take longer to destroy.

I love going silent and stalking garrisons etc!
You feel like Captain MacMillan in Pripryat:
“Don't move... They're not onto us yet; Patience, don't do anything stupid; Just wait, let them move on.”

Sometimes i play as a Solo squad leader and do recon behind enemy lines. Just cutting of supplies and finding enemy garries, giving intel to command is a different kind of fun.

Great video, more people need to see this and understand the points laid out. FPS game yes, strategy game... Hell yes. The strategy is the more important aspect in my mind.

Recon teams are a better option considering that is their main purpose, not sniping, which a lot of players think. Not to mention a two person team is less likely to go undetected leaving squads to either defend or attack other objectives.

Recently I put two satchels directly on the garrisons and both survived with zero damage. I was shocked to see this. I know at least one was in Warfare mode. Is this the new?

Another great way of finding enemy garrisons is locating enemy supply airdrops. How to do that? When you see them falling, have your recon team and one regular squad (since recon teams are usually behind enemy lines thus providing a vastly different bearing, if you are playing recon and the other member of the team is on a different location than you you can use his bearing too) say the bearing on where they see the drop. Then draw two imaginary lines in those directions. Where they intersect is the landing point of the supplies. Then direct the recon team to the location to take out the drop or the garry built from it.

I’m aware of this important part of the game. I also like to use light tanks/recon vehicles to gain supremacy on the first point in welfare maps. You have huge fire power compared to the infantry before heavy tanks will get there.

Love your channel, really helped me improve my gameplay. Just an opinion question, regarding the machine gun team for the Germans do you believe the MG 42 or 34 is the better option? I find the 42 has to much kick and the 34 has better sustained accuracy. What is you and everyone's thoughts?

Great video! I was looking for an answer I didn't find in the video (or maybe I missed it): is pressing "F" the only way to destroy the garrison? I noticed grenades do not take it out, but does a bazooka shell, artillery, tank shot, AT gun, or bombing run remove them as well?

Couldn't you also call in artylery on a garrison?

Hey, this is kinda unrelated, but I'm having some trouble with the discord. When I try to verify my phone, everything goes smoothly until I have to put in the password what password does it mean?

People keep saying how important mics are in this game and yet every time I cut through my mic anxiety to make a callout it gets completely ignored by just about every squad I play with. I'll make a callout like "enemy squad just south of point, like 50m away" and like clockwork about 30 seconds later somebody goes "I think there's some guys south of the objective"

But if I dare to keep quiet somebody will bitch about it. I'd play this game so much more if every squad wasn't locked with 2 people in them and the few that accept your request just kick you minutes later for zero discernable reason. But if you stay unassigned you'll get bitched at for that, too. If I play squad lead somebody will whine about me not knowing SL despite being a "new players welcome" server. I swear no matter what I do it's always lose-lose except for the rare occasion I actually make it into an unlocked actual normal squad. Never have this problem on any other similar game. Even the original Project Reality for BF2.

I hate the hurtgen forest and the hill 400 maps at night. The fog makes it hard to see anything

Can the enemy spawn in whilst you dismantle the Garry?
