As of 7/27/2021 this video still has not been corrected.

I appreciate that this video was made as it was the only instructional video I could find for this specific box, but in this video both the neutral and one of the hot wires are connected to the neutral bar.

The neutral should be where the left hand hot wire is (parallel with the hot wire on the right) and the second hot wire should be connected to the other end of the hot circuit. In this case, the second hot wire connection should be all the way to the left and slightly above the right hand hot wire (if you install the box right-side-up it would be all the way to the right and slightly below the left hand hot wire).

For future people watching they incorrectly connected the neutral and hot together on the neutral bus. They fixed it in their next video yet I don’t think they ever mentioned their huge and dangerous mistake. If you have one of these square D sub panels do not do what they did.

yeah, you put your hot onto the neutral lug that has plastic around it on 3 sides. The first hot lug is up to the left of that. I almost thought the same thing when I installed mine.

The older guy says "He was an electrical contractor in another state" Is that where he learned to land a Neutral and a Hot wire to the same buss? You may wonder why they didn't show a circuit test at the conclusion of the video! This video should be flagged for removal due to dangerous and incorrect procedure.

I bet they got a surprise when they turned the power on, since they hooked the power to the neutral bar.

The layout on the panel can confuse you if you are not watching close or have not identified hots versus neutral bar it is possible to connect hots and neutral improperly.

1. Box is upside down, the holes a ground bus bar used for attachment of the box
2. Neutral and hotwire on the same bus bar - hope there is no fire
3. Kudos for doing this box though. Hope these guys are safe

This video shows the INCORRECT way to wire this panel, at 6:01 in the video you will see that both the Black (Hot) and the White (Neutral) are connected to the same bus bar. This video should be corrected or removed.

Yeah, that whole wiring to the neutral bar twice thing got me.
Also, the box is upside, so that should’ve been my first clue..

10 months ago I commented that there should be a ground rod (grounding electrode) connected to this panels ground bar as required in Article 250. No comment from anyone! If you do not test the rod to prove 25 ohms or less resistance, then you are required to install two ground rods. The ground rods are for the purpose of sending lightning to Earth, not ground fault in any way.

I enjoyed it. Great job. (Oh the box seemed upside down when you were installing the breakers) I appreciate your time.😁😎👍

To the viewers, don't do as they say and do. Skip this video if you don't want to burn your house down! I can't believe this video is still up. They need to be fact-checked. Also, spend $80 bucks and get a permit to do it, it's worth it if you don't know what you are doing.

The box is upside down in the beginning. Note the breakers put in. Then note breakers at end. Wonder if when box was turned around if they had some short wires? Reason I noticed it. I have same box. The word Top is engraved inside the back

Should have been titled, "How NOT To Wire Your Main Wires For Sub-Panel Electrical Box For Home Garage Pole Barn." Totally rookie errors for "dad" being an electrician.. As soon as that 70 amp breaker in the house "blew" they should have reshot the entire episode. I guess YouTube doesn't protect us from negligent activity, just "naughty" subjects...

Panel was initially installed upside down.
Ungrounded phase conductor and neutral (grounded conductor) landed on neutral bar.
Where is the GEC and Grrounding electrodes? Never was addressed.
