Durham Region Home Instead - April's Care Pro of the Month, Doreen!

As spring unfolds, we are excited to celebrate Doreen as April’s Care Professional of the Month at Home Instead, Durham Region. Since joining our team in October 2023, after her move from Kenya to Canada in July of the same year, Doreen has exemplified what it means to provide compassionate and personalized senior care services.

Doreen's journey from working in customer care at an airport in Kenya to becoming an integral part of our senior care team here in Canada reflects her innate passion for caregiving. Her experience caring for her grandmother back home has imbued her with a deep understanding of the needs and nuances of elder care, making her a beloved caregiver among our clients in areas like Oshawa, Whitby, and Clarington.

Her dedication to enhancing the quality of life for seniors has earned her widespread admiration. Doreen's approach—soft-spoken, kind, and deeply compassionate—resonates well with the values we uphold at Home Instead, including providing dementia care, Alzheimer's care, and 24-hour care with utmost empathy and respect.

Outside of her commitment to senior care, Doreen finds joy and relaxation in simple pleasures like watching TV and catching up on rest, a testament to her loving, humble nature. These personal hobbies of hers, although seemingly simple, are a vital part of her well-rounded approach to self-care, allowing her to provide the best possible care to her clients.
