2020 Ford Explorer ST review by The Straight Pipes. The Ford Explorer ST is pumping out 400hp and 415 lb-ft tq from a 3L Twin Turbo V6. At $64,599 CAD, Would you take it over a Lincoln Aviator, Dodge Durango SRT, Hyundai Palisade, KIA Telluride?

Boys, I picked up a focus RS about 2 months ago and you'd be more than welcome to review it and go for a rip in it. Only issue is that I'm in Southern Alberta and I know you guys are out in Ontario. But ya, if you're ever out here, hit me up! ✌

I really hate these..especially when it gets behind you and not knowing if your your average soccer mom is driving it or a undercover cop is

Imagine in 2000 telling someone a ford would have heated, cooled, and massaging seats

Focus RS, Subaru WRX and the Type R video was how I discovered your channel. Enjoy watching you guys review cars ever since.

When you drive these Explorers fast, which I do. I can care less about it looking like a cop car, because people that see me aggressively getting closer to them in their rear view mirror, quickly get the hell out of my way! I love it! I wasn't a fan at first, but then decided to trade in my '19 Explorer Sport on this. There is one thing I know for a fact that Kia, Hyundai, Dodge, Subaru and GM don't offer in their direct competitors... The ST Driving Experience, when you purchase an Explorer ST! Yes indeed... On Ford's dime, they put you up at a very nice hotel on the Biltmore Estate in Ashville, NC. You learn much about this truck and its handling capabilities, directly from the Ford Performance guys. A few hours driving in the mountains, then several more hours on their road course putting the truck through many real world situations, showcasing its performance, and going over its standard options. Afterwards, a quaint off roading stint back to the hotel, at the end of the day. Best car purchase experience one can ever ask for. Keep your Telluride and Pallisade, I'll smoke you both in my Explorer ST! LOL

That "triple review" was the first time Youtube suggested one of your videos to me. I've been a subscriber ever since. 👊

Hey guys, I've actually had a 2021 Explorer ST for about a week. While not completely different, Ford did update many of the interior plastics and meterials to look and feel better in the ST specifically.

Bought an ST explorer about two months ago. Installed an intercooler and tuned it and it is running 12.0 in the 1/4. Tons of potential in these. Way faster than the Durango SRT. The hellcat Durango will be faster, but cost 25k more at minimum

Honestly, the Explorer ST is my favorite performance SUV of the modern era. And yes, I’m a young person. Besides the obvious beasts such as the Trackhawk and the Durango Hellcat (which are both respectably absolute monsters), the Explorer ST is one of the lesser known, really cool performance SUV’s in my opinion. I just wish they went a more bold with the ST trim. I feel like Ford gives some ST’s some REALLY solid little bits and pieces while other ST’s are kind of lacking in things that would truly set it apart from the normal counterpart besides an obvious power difference. I feel like the absolute worst thing that kills the Explorer ST is that exhaust. It looks, at a glance, really convincing and honestly exciting, until you’re met with the huge hole on the underside.. it’s fake.

The exhaust is fake. Come on. Like I get it, but come on.
On an ST? Really? It’s your performance trim and you’re giving it a fake exhaust...

I guess at the end of the day there are some redeeming qualities like the rear-biased all wheel drive system. That alone does set it apart from its competitors like the Telluride. Overall it’s still a cool car. Whether or not it’s a heavy three-row 400 horsepower is quite a bit.

Hey man! I’m a cop and I love you guys channel lol. We just started getting delivery of our 2020 Explorers and I can confirm, they are very quick. Much quicker than my current Taurus which consistently gets walked by V6 Accords and Acura TL’s lol. Hell I had a guy run from me in a 2008 Chevy Impala and walked away from me. Goes without saying, I can’t wait to get the Explorer..

"It even scared us and it's our car"
See, here in Spain we don't have that problem because pretty much all cop cars are Priuses, Citroen C3s and C5s in distinctive liveries.

If you don't already, filming with a CPL filter can help a bit with trying to film reflective surfaces like the paint and glass; they're real common in car photography
