Some people are obsessed with sex, and think that relationships revolve around it. Sometimes relationships do revolve around sex, but sometimes a mature relationship is about meaningful love, respect, and companionship for a person be they male or female, sex doesn't necessarily come in to it. Why do so many insist on labeling someone because of how they live their life?

I was producing Cliff in the early ‘80’s when he was dating Sue Barker. They would cuddle on the couch behind me during sessions!! He questioned me one time whether he should marry her or not… I thought she was a beautiful lady, had all the perfect attributes for him… but pressures and politics intervened (some jealousies from close colleagues I suspected), and unfortunately, they went their separate ways. I think he missed a great opportunity, to be honest. But then Cliff was always wedded to his career, adores his fans…. (PS I’m the producer that produced “You and Me and Jesus”, “Little Town”, “Ocean Deep”, “Thief in the Night”, among others. and composed the title track for the “Silver” album (1983), which I also produced and arranged. Spin forward to 1999 and Cliff recorded my song “Two Worlds”, which was the double A-side to his number 1 hit, “Millennium Prayer “).

Always an inspirational friend and enthusiastic colleague to work with. He brought out the best in me. I am ten years younger than him, and a Yank to boot, but it was never a problem for him!!

In his music and gifted singing (which I always recorded with amazement), I always felt his deep longing for God, his connection and commitment to Jesus… he definitely always walked the talk, an amazing soul…

Piers is trying his best to make Cliff admit he’s Gay. It’s a shame as he most probably doesn’t want to come out like a lot of stars. He’s right it’s no one’s business who he goes out with. I just can’t imagine Cliff with anyone sexually especially being so Religious.

Here is the thing, a person can have gay tendencies but because of their belief system choose not to act on them and can then choose to be Celibate, not many people will understand this choice, so if this is the case here I understand why he wont talk about it. On the other hand some people are just not interested in sex and therefore choose not to have it. There are very few people that have no desire for it but there are those few, and most people will not understand this life style choice. The fact his never been married even in his older years and a Christian and as a Christian will be of the understanding that being gay is not allowed as a Christian there is no way he can agree with being gay. But to be gay means you have had or in a gay relationship. I know a few Christian guys that admitted to having gay tendencies but have never acted on them nor will they ever, and have chosen to stay celibate. I maybe wrong but i think this is the case here.

It's interesting how Piers seems to think Cliff has allowed some sort of sexual mythology
continue throughout his career.
Is Piers so dumb he doesn't realize the media create that "mythology"...
Clearly Cliff thinks ones personal life is sacred and off limits- be it his own, or someone else's.

You are a hero of mine Cliff and never somebody who was anti-gay. Friends and fans don't ask about your sexuality because Cliff is a person who is comfortable in who he is. So many people make a big issue about who they are and what they believe in. The truth is that it is not a big issue. If you are loved then you are lucky. You are adored by millions which
means that if you are loved by somebody you love, then that adoration can only add to that love by your millions who adore you. You are also a Christian. To have faith, love and adoration is God's blessing. You are a good man Cliff Richard
