In this infamous Come Dine With Me episode, Peter Marsh became one of the most iconic villains in reality TV history, but the full episode reveals perhaps another, more sinister villain...

Dear Lord, what a sad little life, Jane. You ruined my night completely, so you could have the money, but I hope now you spend it on getting some lessons in grace and decorum because you have all the grace of a reversing dump truck without any tyres on. Now take the money and get off my property.

I’ve seen this iconic rant more times than I care to remember, but when I finally got around to watching the full episode, I knew I had to make a video on it. This, for me, is one of the most exhilerating villain origin stories in British TV history. I hope you enjoyed the video, and I’m really curious what you think: is Peter a villain in your eyes? Is Jane worse? Do you think she set him up for failure? Let me know, and as always, thanks for watching.

p.s. Come say hi in between uploads:

This has blown my mind, I feel guilty that I've quoted that iconic line millions of times and always in my head thought he was a psycho, but the real evil was Jane!

Peter complimenting Jane's food with a genuine, glowing review was really nice.
He could've taken the opportunity to insult her skills, but chose to be the bigger person.

Jane is the sort of cop to provoke someone into escalating situation and then make it out it was their fault they got arrested

An antagonistic cop with a god complex. A tale as old as time

I worked with Peter in the early 90s. Not going to say he was a lovely guy, but there was never, ever a dull moment. Customers genuinely came in for 'the Peter experience' !

Jane is a horrible horrible human being… she’s the kind of person you avoid at all costs at work.

The fact that she told him what he should and shouldn't feel, is classic narcissistic manipulation and gas lighting. One thing we all own is our feelings and nobody can dictate how we feel. If anyone tries to do this, that is a huge red flag.

The way he breaks the fourth wall when he says "there's nobody in there love" is the best thing that's ever happened on British TV

The fact Jane is a police officer is genuinely scary 😮 think of how many vulnerable people have been victims to her narcissism and ended up incarcerated because she needed to feel control 😢

Jane was that girl in high-school who got bullied by the "cool kids" and didn't get any attention from the boys. Now she's a police officer, she's trying to ascert control in every situation. Sad human

"I like to offend people" and "I'm brutally honest" are usually code for "I can dish it out but I definitely can't take it"

Peter is iconic for this rant 😂 he said insults I never knew existed 👏🏻

Jane 100% considers herself one of those people that "speaks her mind and tells it how it is" funny thing is I've met alot of folk like that, and not one of them ever has a nice thing to say. Almost like those people are just nasty and spiteful and think it's acceptable because they are just speaking their mind, fuck who it hurts.

Peter got the low score because he insulted Charlotte and Adam, when he said " not for those two, they are just here for the experience " that was the nail in the coffin for a good score from them. You can even see it from the look Charlotte gave after he said it. He was so desperate for Jane to still give him a good score when he was trying to defend himself.

20:50 The way Jane is laughing - she knows her repulsive plan worked. What a sad little life, Jane.

Jane’s logic about how Peter shouldn’t be offended by what she said is like slapping someone across the face and then saying it shouldn’t hurt because you didn’t mean to hit them

When Peter said everyone prostitutes themselves he was talking about the archetype. He didn't mean we all literally are sex workers, he meant we all sacrifice pieces of ourselves to get what we want. I can't believe everyone at the table thought he literally meant prostitution
