I stumbled upon this video like a year ago and I thought it cleared things up but it actually mislead me a bit and I just figured out the correct definitions. Terminals are explained perfectly here, I would only add that the term "console" is also used to refer to a terminal environment nowadays. Bash is the name of two different things: A command language and a shell. The command language is the thing you put in the command line, the shell is a program that interprets and executes a specific command language and then produces prompts. This is so confusing and I get that they have the same name because one is made to work with the other but few people know the difference, it's the same as the difference between a compiler and a programming language.
