SQ11 Mini DV Camera Setup, Review, Instructions and Sample Footage!

Today, we're looking at this super cheap action camera, the SQ11 Mini DV Camera, and also going over its instructions and how to use the SQ11 mini dv Camera. Its pretty tricky when your first setting up the sq11, but with the help of an instructional video like this one, you'll be using your sq11 in no time ;)

overall, the sq11 mini dv camera has a lot of different modes, but it can also do a ton of really cool stuff making it a great cheap action camera, or good just as a random extra camera.
the night vision mode on the sq11 is particularly cool, especially considering how cheap this camera is!

Perfect video, clear and concise! The manufacturer should just print the link to this on a slip of paper and throw away the horrendous, nonsensical factory instructions. I read them carefully several times and could not make heads or tails of them.

I have had these for almost a year, but every time I went to use it the instructions would frustrate me and I’d put it away again. the main selling points of this camera, imo, is the small size and weight. along with the low price that makes it practical for applications where you dont want to use a high quality camera. for example, mounting it to radio controlled cars or planes, drones, model rockets, attached to the collar of your dog or cat, etc. if it gets lost, stolen, broken you dont have to cry about it, and if its not, you can get some cool action shots of what your cat does when wanders outside. maybe even trying to catch a bird or something.

IF you have a fake model, as I do - these are almost certainly actually using a 640x480 sensor, at least for the model I have.
On the model I have at least, there's only one video recording setting, which is actually 1280x960(from checking the file details in Windows), ie: exactly doubled resolution both horizontally & vertically(quadrupled total resolution). Photos are the same resolution.
When used as a webcam, the max resolution is 480p, 30fps.
4:3 format, 640x480, 30fps = all of these match standard definition NTSC(USA, Japan etc) video. ie: it's most likely a bottom of the barrel sensor, which is being scaled up(which is pointless, it doesn't improve quality). This would also make the analog composite video output easy, as the sensor itself is probably already using that format. Even for 640x480, the quality is poor.
The infrared/night-vision also doesn't seem to work, I think the 'LEDs' are fakes.
It's weird how products that are already low quality, get copied.

Hey dude great review but 2 points of improvement: 1. to change the date or disble the date you don't need to take out the sd card and plug it into the computer. You can connect the camera directly to computer with sd card in it and use file manager to access the text file. 2. you explained everything except how to charge the battery of camera and what color LED is on while charging and after fully charged.

Cheat Sheet/Faqs/Guide Link for this video:

1. Press power, Mode = ☆BLUE: 720p☆. Press power to record, light flashes/turns off and you've activated the function, as in all modes. Hit power to stop.
2. Press Mode again (or 2x from home), turns ☆RED&BLUE: 1080p☆. Pwr to start (lights go out) & Pwr to stop.
☆Night Vision☆: From 1080p⬆️hold power for 2sec. Red flashes 3x. Hit pwr once to start rec, (it flashes red/blue 3x & lights go off: recording.) Pwr to stop.
3. Press Mode again (3x from home), mode ☆RED, PHOTO☆. Hit power to shoot. Use mode or power down to exit photo mode.
☆Motion Detection: in 720 or 1080p, b4 recording, hold mode for 3 secs. R&B LEDs flash when motion is detected. Saves every 5mins.

•To turn off Unit: Hold pwr for 5-10secs, release. If not working, switch mode to home 1st (Blue Lt).
•Remove timestamp: Power off (hold right 5-10secs &release). Pull SD card, open .text file. Edit end from Y to N. - or edit date for accuracy.
•Use as a webcam/rec from computer. *Remove SD 1st* Use app Photobooth or VLC Player.

was waiting for motion detector too. have to say its refreshing to not have endless waffle to get to the point ten minutes in, well done :)

To you who don't know to use motion detection, you need to press power button once and it becomes blue. From there click and hold mode button for 3 seconds. Now you are in motion detect mode.
Very impotrant thing is that the device is connected to power supply while in this mode, other way it doesn't work. Np
