This tutorial should be the number 1 search result for doing a hard reset on a Versa 3/4. I didn't know the Versa 3 method was at the end, so I tried the method for the 4 a few times 🙃 Fortunately, I got the 3 to reset on the first try.😄

OMG This was fantastic! I worked with Tech online and it was hard to tell if I was doing it right, which I wasn't. They wanted me to replace it, which it wasn't under warranty. I tried this as a last effort and the detailed video was so great I was able to reset my Versa 3 and don't need to buy a new one. Thank you much!

Thanks for your detailed video. I had given up on my Versa 3 a year ago. The symptom was that despite all the normal haptic feedback at the right places and getting the normal logo screen on reboots and restarts, the screen would stay black after the reboot was done. I finally deleted the device in an attempt to hard reset and start over. Then I could never get past the black screen, making the 4-digit code at reconnect invisible. There did not appear to be any way around that.
Your detail of the 2-second button pause in the middle seems to have been the missing piece of the puzzle. I had seen many instructions that covered the first restart, followed by letting up the button and then pressing it again, but those did not change anything. The 2-second up-down step worked. The device is finally fully alive. I reconnected to my phone when the 4-digit code showed on the screen, and I am now updating the device with the latest code. Thanks again!

Thanks. Versa 3. Asked for PIN. D/K it. Not synched. "It says "Unlock from your phone." Can't - not synched. Called customer service. Sent pictures. They tried to walk me through a factory reset. Could not do it without this video. (I tried another but it was no help). Thanks. Up and running after hours (over 2 days of effort and 2 hours on the phone).

Thank you much ❤. It took me around 15 attempts until I successfully reset mine. It's just a Sense, and the screen projection is different, didn't even do the flashing... but overall, the same procedure... but yeah, the timing is all that. Am so happy though 😅

Hey, thank you for this video it is very helpful. It keeps saying “Data not cleared. Sync and try again” but when i try to connect it, it comes up with the same error message of it being locked. This has happened about 5 times now
