Senate Debates a Measure Codifying Reproductive Rights

The Senate is in the midst of a marathon floor session where members are debating a bill that would codify access to reproductive health care in state law. A priority of the DFL-controlled legislature, House File 1, the Protect Reproductive Options (PRO) Act, is sponsored by Senator Jennifer McEwen, DFL-Duluth. Republicans have offered amendments that would limit the circumstances under which abortion care and sterilization can be offered.
