I designed my passive home in S WI during winter it stays around 50f without heat on. During summer house sits in full sun and doesn't require cooling but I do use a small bedroom sized AC unit to dehumidify. I use no duct work no air exchange no uber tight windows. Just a very high mass tied into the ground.
