~*~ WHAT I USE TO PRINT/CUT MY DIGITAL ITEMS ~*~

~*~ PRINTING TIPS ~*~

~ Download the files and unzip them to access. If you can't find the files, try searching your computer for "ac_".
~ For diecuts, I pull the the images up in my cutting software and edit them for size and arrangement.
~ For papers, I pull the patterns into Photoshop.
~ Before printing, select the highest photo printing quality settings possible on your printer. I typically choose the best glossy paper option on the highest print quality setting (it lays down more ink and makes a richer print even though I use matte paper). Personally, I would rather use a little more ink to get a better print, but the choice is up to you. :)
~ Make sure the scale is set to 100%.
~ Make the borderless option turned on.
~ Printed colors may vary slightly depending on your printer, paper, settings, etc.
~ I'm not able to provide more tech support than what is listed above, but Google and Youtube are your friends!

Hi. I have a tip to help with centering up the paper. I drew the circle/ squares holes on the Cinch as a guide. This is how I did it-
Put the guide lip back in the regular position. Line a large piece of chipboard up against the lip, and punch it.
Pull the chipboard out slightly, still aligned with the guide lip.
Now get a black pencil or thin marker and draw inside the punched out square/ circles onto the Cinch.
That way you have an accurate guide of where the holes will be. It's easier than relying on the rulers.

This machine is absolutely brilliant and literally a cinch to use (pun indended).

I just bought one yesterday for £79.99 from Amazon. I think for a wire binding machine that is an absolutely bargain, when you consider machines with similar capabilities can easily cost you £300-£400.

The key benefits of this machine for those considering it are:

1. Ease of use. It's a lot easier than bigger office machines, within 15-20 minutes and a bit of practice you'll be doing perfect bindings every time. It also punches a decent amount of sheets (20 at a time) so that saves you a lot of time on large document bindings.

2. Flexibility. This machine has a very good cutter blade. It can cut threw board, plastics and a wide range of thick cards. Being smaller than typical large machines, it's ideal for making mini pocket sized books etc.

3. Compact. Ideal size and weight, the handle folds nearly in place, it doesn't take up much desk space, easy to lift and is easily stored away when not in use.

4. Binding size. It supports an usually wide range of 2:1 wire binding sizes. Going down to 3/8th of an inch all the way up to 1 and a 1/4 inch size (approx 3cm!). Yes, this little machine is capable of making books nearly 3cm thick with over over 300 pages! This is very rare to see on wire bind machines (unless you pay a fortune), most are limited to 120-140 pages maximum.

Thanks for such a great instructional video! I was on the fence about whether to get one or not because many of the other tutorials seem confusing, but you explained everything very concisely! And my birthday is coming up so I this is going to be #1 on my list! I did have a question about the binding wires, are they expensive and where is the best place to get them? Thanks bunches for an awesome video!!!

For anyone in UK or Europe watching this, wondering how the heck you do A5 and A4 punching on this machine (which is really designed for the American market that uses imperial measurements, although the latest model shown here in the video (which I have also) has both metric and imperial rulers)..here's how I figured it out (by trial and error):

A5 (landscape format / short edge): Make sure the paper is aligned to FIRST LINE on the first (upper) rule guide, which is 1/17th of an inch. So in other words, you're moving the paper to the right by 1/17th of an inch which will give you perfectly centered holes on the short edge of A5 paper. You need to pull out button/plug 12 as that hole is not needed. I haven't tried doing A5 portrait mode yet, but if you look at the A4 method below, it should be exactly the same except you're obviously only punching once on A5 paper which is exactly half the width of A4.

A4 (portrait format / long edge): Pull the ruler slide outwards 2 clicks to the left. On the newer models that have the metric ruler to the bottom, you'll see that 17cm at the top should line up perfectly with 32cm on the bottom from 2 clicks. Pull out plug 11 (marked A4 on newer models) as that hole is not needed. The paper will only be punched half way across due to the width limit of the machine. Turn the paper around (non-punched side facing right obviously), and punch. You now have perfectly centered holes on A4 paper.

Tip: Use the little button to the left hand side to secure your paper before punching. Practice makes perfect. Practice on scrap paper. Because the A5 method requires a bit of precision aligning to 1/17th of an inch line (although its not difficult with a few practice attempts), it's recommended to punch your front and back covers WITH some of your inner front and rear pages at same time, so it looks neat and the holes align perfectly with the front and back covers when it's wire bound.

Hope that helps someone!

Thanks for your tutorial! But t here’s no need to do any calculations - they’ve done the calculations for you! All you need to do is make sure the guide is pushed as far to the right as possible. Then lay your papers down correctly against the guide (making sure the guide doesn’t move as it tends to do sometimes for me) and push them all the way to the back. From what I could tell you wanted more space than normal without holes at the top and bottom. Pull the first 2 pegs on the left and also the last 2 pegs that are over the right side of your paper. When you lower the handle, your holes will be just like you wanted them. I know you said this is the way you do it but going by the directions makes it much easier! And no calculations or measuring! I’m enjoying my Cinch and it looks like you are too!

I love how this was created but I’m still confused as to why you moved the last page to the front before the wire bit was closed shut? 😊

I am so, so frustrated. I'm using the 1.25" wire and although I'm putting the lever at 1 1/4 size, it doesn't close all the way so I moved it to get a tighter closure and it still didn't work, it looks crooked and bent. I have wasted so much wire! 3 times I tried. Then I ordered from Amazon the spiral, hope to get it in 2 days and try that. I have no clue as to what I'm doing wrong, this was the first time using the Cinch. So so so disappointed.
