Easy Hike in Las Vegas - Goodsprings Trail

Located about 40 miles southwest of Las Vegas, the tiny town of Goodsprings was once a booming mining hub while Las Vegas was just getting settled. The sleepy desert town is now home to the world famous (and haunted) Pioneer Saloon(1913) and arguably the easiest “hike” in the Las Vegas area!

The 2.2 mile Goodsprings Trail is a natural surface gravel paved pathway that leads out from the town into the surrounding natural desert. It offers a perfect opportunity to explore the rich history of the area. Signs along the trail detail the area's ecology and plant & animal life!

This is a great easy/moderate “hike” in the Las Vegas area. I recommend this trail to folks like myself (who aren’t in the best shape for super rugged trails), families with children and peeps with walkable doggos. Buuuut don’t let the title of my video fool you! There are some inclines on this trail that will have you huffing and puffing but luckily there’s always an easy path back down to the trail head.

There’s a cheeky picnic area and bathrooms at the foot of the trail as well as plenty of parking spaces. It’s easily accessible by all vehicles and the entire park is maintained by Clark County so nothing too sketch.(keep the beers & joints on the low ;)

This is a great trail for anyone who is looking to feel like they’re in the middle of nowhere but still close enough to Sin City to catch the VGK game.

Best of all it’s free and you’re near dozens of other dope places to explore (surrounded by BLM).

Cell phone reception is limited, always bring plenty of water when exploring the desert. If you encounter any wildlife it’s best to keep a distance and remember to always HAVE FUN...even when you’re out of breath!
