Sassy + Chic Blender Sponge Review | Dollar Store| Day 97 of Trying a New Makeup Product Every Day

I'm trying a new (to me) makeup product every day! I have so many samples that I have accumulated from Ulta gift bags and such, so I figured this would be a great way to get myself to actually use those products! This will also help me figure out what I actually want to buy...and hopefully help YOU decide that as well! I will also be trying products that I have recently purchased and am excited to test out! I loveee trying out new things, and its fun to get out of the same old makeup routine!

I grabbed a hot pink egg-shaped one the other day (before seeing your review) and noticed a couple of things:

1. Running it under the faucet doesn't seem to work because the surface is fairly water-repellant, and my showerthought of the day that this might be an intentional design choice meant to keep it from absorbing too much product, and your sponge may have ended up looking the way it did because the foundation was getting smeared around on the surface instead of being absorbed into the body of the sponge.
2. The trick to actually getting it wet is to stick it in a cup or small bowl of water, squish it down a couple of times to get all the air bubbles out (a bit like you'd do with a turkey baster), and then squeeze out the excess water. Mine didn't double in size or anything after doing this, but it did expand noticeably and no longer felt like something I could bruise my face with if I wasn't careful.

Oh Em Gee! I am loving your backdrop. I need to get one. I have tried that beauty blender also. It never soaks water in, but I am glad it worked for you love. BTW I buy all my beauty blenders from Walmart. Look for the Orange one by Real Technics... the sell one for $3.88 or 2 in a pack for $9 That's all I ever use. LOL (I use them in all my makeup videos.) Thanks for the review love. xo

I've not had bad luck with these sponges. They always enlarge when I run mine under warmer water. Maybe the one you purchased was a lemon. Get a different colour and try that one.
For a dollar, it's not a waste really.
