i was in high school from 86 to 90, for me personally 80s goth or i always preferred Deathrock will always hold an unbeatable place. and nothing can ever beat 80s music for me, but i love that there is so much modern darkwave/synthpop whatever out there. i have no idea where the people that are listening to it are any more though, the clubs and scene i loved so much back then are seemingly completely gone around me.

Perfect combination of music and movie clip. It could almost have been the original movie song. 1985 was my high school year, and we listened to new wave. Allison was considered a goth, although that didn't mean much to mainstream audiences. The ironic thing is Claire probably listened to new wave, and Allison to gothic wave, and now here's a new song that's a descendant of both and could fit in with the movie.

This song reminds me of my Industrial Goth night every Thursday I think it was at my favorite club in Chicago-" Neo" in the mid 90's to mid 2000s. Regular Goth night was a Tuesday, Friday was a mix, and Saturday had 80's tunes, extended mix versions of underground/niche Goth songs, or some international tracks and some hard to find music. Many of the club had dance majors and costume designers and artists and so it was very fun to people watch, and get to know new intriguing intelligent people, if even for a few minutes each week, you built bonds. This music brings back the clove smoke in the air and competing spicy colognes and pulsating music and stomping Doc Martens.

Why are people wishing this music never went away, or wondering what the bands are doing now? This song came out in 2023, it's not from the 80's lol. There are a lot of people still making darkwave and synthwave.
