The interview was NOT TRAGIC NICKY. I’m old I remember that interview it was like ice cream compared to 2024 tragedies.

The "Step In Time" dance ensemble in "Mary Poppins" has got to be one of my favorite dance scenes in a musical of all time.

I still am amazed Dick Van Dyke and the other male dancers had such energy and endurance to film that dance scene! It was tremendous!

What we all need to remember is everybody has a story.

Dick Van Dyke has his own YouTube channel. It only has a few videos, but it's remarkable that he has it at all, IMO.

I remember quite well he had an alcohol problem. It was discussed back when he was in the movie The Morning After in which he played an alcoholic. I still remember because the Beatle song Yesterday played during a very remorseful scene.

I loved everything Dick Van Dyke ever did. Can't think of a bad performance. He was amazing, an American Icon to be sure. And I never knew about the interview, I was a kid then and my parents didn't let me watch that show. But it was fantastic, he put everything so well. He always had a way of saying things. Respect man, respect.

My favorite Dick Van Dyke roll: Caractacus Potts in "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang". I was literally a 6 year old laying on my belly in front of the TV watching that in 1972 when I was 6 years old and I got up and told him I wanted him to buy "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang" from the automotive museum in Grosse Ile, Michigan. They had one of the cars that had actually been used in one scene.

Odd; In 2003, I was a Porsche 928 nut and had an '85 S2 5 speed, a very rare car from Austria. A man found the gold '81 Porsche 928 that was used in the chase scene from Risky Business, and it was the car that Tom Cruise learned to drive a manual transmission in. He bought it on the cheap and wanted to sell it to me and others for $55, 000; I didn't have the money so I never responded to his offer. Thomas Mapother signed the dashboard.

That same car sold last year for $1.98 Million; Me a day late and a dollar short~

I never knew about the Dick Cavett Show and Dick Van Dyke being on it. I liked every performance and shows he did. I enjoyed seeing him weekly on 'The Dick Van Dyke Show.'
I didn't know about his other problems off stage.

"Fans", viewers, people who go to movies, who watch TV. Do not deserver $#$$% from entertainers, let alone answers about their private lives. Anymore than they deserve to delve into the private lives of their doctor, (who is a hell of a lot closer to them than actors) or the checkout person in a department store, or the person who serves them in a bar.

Excellent job, don't ever do AI. I won't tune in on anything that is AI.

My favorite Dick Van Dyke role was in the film Cold Turkey!

A masterpiece in which Van Dyke played the only sane man in a town trying to stop smoking for a month.

All props to Dick Van Dyke. His ability to adapt to change, and even to thrive in it, not only helped him get addiction under control, it allowed him to grow continually as an actor as well as a human being. I consider his life to be a considerable success story!

Dick Van Dyke wasn't "Exposed". Dick Van Dyke was BRAVE and HONEST about his life. He was an AMAZING human being.

I'm so glad the tech overlords protect us from words and mean comments when we search for things. Next, even his initials, DVD, will be forbidden.
