We're in 2022 with Windows 10 and Microsoft still hasn't been able to figured out how to make this simple task less complicated! Can't believe 3rd party freeware do a much better/easier job! Thumbs down for Micros**t !!!

Just a heads up for anybody who might try this fix but still have an issue with burning because I did. Make the changes as shown in this video then clear your burn list and finally on the left side of the Windows Media Player library - Click the ''Organize'' drop down menu'' and click ''Apply media information changes'' Then you can re-add your files to the burn list and everything should be working. That fixed it for me. Thanks so much MDTech Thumbs up brother.

WMP can't data burn basic folders to a disc without rearranging them out of order whilst renaming audio files. Then again counting from 1 to 10 seems an impossible task for most media players. 😉

There's this common CD error message I get.

"Windows Media Player cannot burn the files. If the burner is busy, wait for the current task to finish. If necessary, verify that the burner is connected properly and that you have installed the latest device driver."

Do you know how to fix burning stuck at 99 percent and the disc tray refusing to open? I ask because the issue started with the issue you've solved in this video, now I can't get my wmp to recognise a blank disc for burning.

Hi, I Love your videos!!! :) I tried the fix, but I'm still getting the error :( I purchased this Lenovo laptop new in Jan of 2018. I never had any problems burning CDs. The errors started after the major windows update in October 2018. I know there were all kinds of issues after that update that they had to correct, however, i had no issues other than this one and I saw no mention anywhere of this type of issue being linked to that update. The errors initially happened only occasionally. Then the issue became progressively worse. I am wasting a TON of CDs. Restarting sometimes helped, sometimes not. Drivers are up to date. Firmware is up to date. All of a sudden i was able to burn a CD on the first try a week ago and now today it's back to the errors again. I get the same errors whether I start the burn from WMP or from File Explorer. I have no errors or challenges with any other applications. Thanks in advance for any other suggestions you may have :) .

I just had to unselect the song I was on. I selected a song from my burn list and I was listening to it

I am trying to burn some .wav files to a CD for car use and it has been working perfectly fine until now. This fix only fixed some of the songs that I am trying to burn to this disk. I have made tons of disks with .wav files and I have never encountered this problem

Can't even burn one song now. The status will write to disc then it will stop after that. I'm very disappointed. So far, this isn't helping me.
