What do you think? If the quality is similar to livescope, having no black box, wireless capability, no need to purchase a screen, and a fraction of what Garmin and others charge. You think it will dominate or bust?

I'm going to try and get my hands on a unit ASAP to compare - it is in the early stages of development and refinement now it sounds.

Your move, Garmin. This is why competition is good for the consumer.

Not many pro anglers reported on this, good for you and thanks!

need to see it running on the water before ANY praise is given... all he's doing is running a pre-recorded demo reel... I do agree that putting all of the circuitry into the transducer (thus eliminating the black box) is the future (kudos to Humminbird for being the first)

That is a really interesting concept because hummingbird also doesn't have a black box to run their live sonar but are miles behind Garmin and even lowrance in terms of live imaging. I would be really interested in testing it out!

In Florida's sun and heat the big problem with using an iPhone or tablet is brightness and overheating. My iPhone overheats within 30 minutes of being in the noon day sun.

You need to review it so we can see actual quality while on the water.

iPad screen likely won’t work well in cold weather/wet weather, may overheat in the sun. Great idea, need a better more rugged display

I think its a great idea and it will allow people that might not be able to afford or just might not want to spend the money on a traditional FFS system to be able to enter the market. I think the biggest limitation this system will have is temperature. I don't think an iPad is going to handle a later spring, summer or early fall where I live in Louisiana. but the guy that's buying this system might also only fish the early mornings or late evenings when it isn't as hot. If you can work around the limitations, it could be a good product. It will definitely drive the Garmin, Lowrance and HB guys to do more to keep business in their corner. as one of your commenters said on this video.... competition is good for the consumer. Who knows, you might be able to adapt it to another type of display that handles the temps and still doesn't cost a lot.

There's a video on here of it running live on the water next to a Garmin.

When available how much does it cost for the live sonar and wifi part?

Over heat in the sun? Not sure but up here in the north battery I’m guessing will die out quick or screen will be slow due to the cold -20-30 temperatures unless your always inside the hut…
