Cost-effective, low carbon hydrogen can effectively contribute to the reduction of economy-wide greenhouse gas emissions, boosting energy security, enabling the decarbonization of hard to abate industrial sectors and complementing the integration of clean energy sources in the global energy mix. Low-carbon hydrogen can provide a scalable and reliable source of both electricity and heat to decarbonize industrial applications, thus complementing renewable and other clean energy sources. This event will focus on existing barriers to develop low-carbon hydrogen at scale and discuss solutions on how this could advance deep decarbonization of hard to abate sectors as well as support industrialization and the development of domestic sustainable value chains in developing countries.
