A friend is pianist with 15 years of piano lessons, and plays by the notes. When I asked her to transcribe a song to another key for me in order to sing a medley, she told me that she doesn’t know how to transcribe. I was surprised to learn that someone with that much experience would not know how to do that. How difficult is it to learn how to transcribe from one key to another.?

I’ve only just found you today 🥰 I’m just learning Alto Sax aged 63 and have never studied music theory before this year! It’s maddeningly complicated but I’m determined to master it….. how do you count rhythms? I’ve looked at the 1e+a system and TaKaDiMi but I’m still in a muddle tbh.
