First heart transplantation in Poland, the picture is cropped -there is also an egsosted nurse sleeping on the floor behind

The nurse is the best part, but they're not in the cropped picture. Just exhausted, collapsed against the wall, out cold.

As a vet working with beef cattle I guess I'll never know this feeling

Google the pic. There's his assistant sleeping right on the floor in the far right corner of the room. You can see the sihouette in the photograph the patient is holding in his hand.

The hardest thing is to do what you don't know what will work whe saving a life is a desperate thing to do. Even harder when it doesn't work, but not as hard as being totally helpless and just watching.

Actually you wouldn’t know you would be dead

Actually. How hard of a title would it be that every one of your patients lives past you. I mean he only guaranteed that one through maintaining contact but imagine a doctor with that title

The first ever heart transplant was done in South Africa by a South African surgeon Dr Christiaan Barnard at Groote Schuur Hospital, that's the doctor in the picture.

We have a private hospital named after him.

Sadly doctors don't know how to do their job that's y most of their patients pass or end up in worse circumstances.
