Here in San Rafael, near the Kentfield border, we had some thunder and extremely heavy rain for a half hour or so. The rain is more moderate to heavy now, at almost 2:00 pm, but the winds are very strong, maybe the last of this storm band is passing over us (North Bay) now. There is still thunder, but it’s less close. We have been extremely lucky with the tides, if we have a high tide in my area, flooding is inevitable, with this much rainfall. I’m on watch all of the time, so if flooding looks possible, I have to move two cars to higher ground, including my new one I just picked up the day before yesterday. My home is already prepared, to the best of my ability and has been for weeks. Thanks for the updates, I wish they were more frequent.

That line is a bow echo it shows the wind pushing that storm into a bow shape. I've lived in the Owens valley for almost eight years now I've never seen this much rain I think we've got as much rain in the past week that I've seen the entire time I've been if that's not true it's pretty close. Keep in mind the Owens valley is in one of the most robust rain shadows in the country. the rain shadow I live in is the one that is the cause for almost the entire state of Nevada being a desert. Just like Las Vegas we average here about 5 inches of rain a year and before now I don't think I've ever seen 5 inches in a year it's been more like two or three at the most every year since I've been here for eight years. im positive there's been at least once where an entire 12 months passed with no rain or very very very little
