This can be done against a carnet-de-passage or bank guarantee.

Tourists must declare at the customs station that they will not transfer vehicle ownership during their stay in Pakistan.

This rule helps ensure that the vehicle is only used by the tourist who imported it.

If a tourist cannot export the vehicle within the initial three-month period, they can apply for an extension of up to three more months.

The application must be submitted before the original period expires and requires a valid carnet-de-passage or bank guarantee.

Additionally, the carnet holder must agree not to leave the country during the extended period.

This move aims to boost tourism by making it easier for foreign visitors to travel around Pakistan in vehicles.

The FBR's decision provides flexibility while maintaining necessary checks to prevent misuse of the policy.
