Jigging rods have been around for ages, but there is no defined guide on what to look for because each brand tries to push the virtues of their own rods. It is very difficult to find an explanation or video of what to look for - in this video, I attempt to break down each type of modern vertical jigging types - or to put it aptly, the modern vertical jigging system.

Find the information on what vertical jigging rod to buy and what vertical jigging rod is right for you. The difference for each type of jigging rod and what you need to use for which situation. Vertical Jigging is a system, and should be looked at as ONE system with different techniques to use for a given situation. Not one method is supposed to be better than the other.

I hope this video gives people a better understanding on each type of jigging and the system as a whole. Deciding on one type or all to make your jigging system more versatile.

Glad I found this channel. I have been an avid shore/kayak jig fisherman for sometime, and your vast knowledge of this style of fishing has added to my education greatly. I need some expert Majorcraft rods advice - I current use a FirstCast (FCS 962M) for shore jigging, but I've been really thinking I need the Crosride 5G (XR5-942ML/LSJ). Its a bit lighter, but would it cast and/or give better action than my FCS? would you make the investment? (triple the price)
