Another 49 Year-Old Man with a Great Hairline, Couldn't Grow Beard Until His 20s

If I had to choose one between keeping my thick hair or growing a big beard, I'd rather keep my hair and forgo the beard. Hair is EVERYTHING.

A close friend of mine has an almost female hairline (nw0) and can grow a thick ass beard. Therefore there isn't any definite correlation between head hair and the beard.

tbh my dad could only grow a chin beard at 31 and rn hes 40 and his hair hasn't changed ever since he was 19!

It more has to do with genetics. My step father can't grow a full beard but is quickly thinning all over his head, and he's only 33. Meanwhile, my mother's father had a full head of hair his whole 70 some odd year life, and could grow a full beard in his teens. The only person I know that really followed the whole "more beard, less hair" trope is my dad, but he was the only one of his siblings to start losing his hair before thirty.

I can’t grow a full beard at 31- full head of hair.

My son will have infinite hair genetics. My baby moms hair dad is almost 60 full head of hair..

You can also tell by the health quality of the hair itself - it has vibrant color and texture to it.

My recommendation is to dermaroll with microneedles and use essential oils

What the hell are you saying? You're saying there's a link between being able to grow a beard at a young age and going bald? Like if you grow a beard later in life you won't go bald? sounds like a myth

I know this dude (25 years old), he has a complete straight hairline with a complete full beard, so there are exceptions ;-) It all comes down to your genetics..

Caucasian 19 year old. Hairy arms at 11 or 12, started shaving my face at 14, temples probably thinned out fully by 16, full beard at 17, mature hairline on left side by 18, chest hair only started coming in at 18 though. Currently NW2.5 on my left side, NW1.5 on my right side as of 19 years old (August 2018), but it's definitely catching up. My dad is NW3.5 at 55 years old, my mum's father was NW3 at 80+. Hoping mine will slow down.
